Information on battery disposal
In connection with the sale of batteries or the supply of devices containing batteries, we are obliged to draw your attention to the following:
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.
You can return used batteries that we carry or have carried in our range as new batteries either at your own expense or return them free of charge to our dispatch warehouse (dispatch address). Alternatively, you can hand in the batteries at local collection points.
As an end user, you are legally obliged to return used batteries so that they can be recycled or disposed of professionally.
Used batteries may contain harmful substances that could damage the environment or your health if stored or disposed of improperly. However, batteries also contain important raw materials, such as iron, zinc, manganese, or nickel, and can be recycled.
The symbols depicted on the batteries have the following meaning:
The symbol of the crossed-out wheeled bin indicates that the battery must not be disposed of with household waste.
For batteries containing a certain mass of lead, cadmium, or mercury, the respective harmful substances are indicated by the following additions under the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol:
Pb = battery contains more than 0.004 percent lead by mass
Cd = battery contains more than 0.002 percent cadmium by mass
Hg = battery contains more than 0.0005 percent mercury by mass
Information on the costs involved in accordance with Article 56(4) of the EU Battery Regulation (Regulation 2023/1542) can be found at the "Batterie-Zurück" initiative (https://www.batterie-zurueck.de/de/bewirtschaftungvonaltbatterien/).
